CLASSES AVAILABLE AT ARTS OF ABLEMARLE
HERMITAGE MUSEUM AND GARDENS
- The Hermitage Visual Arts School offers classes and workshops to the community. Adjacent to the museum on the Hermitage grounds, VAS houses two multi-media classrooms, a ceramics studio with wheels and kiln, and a darkroom photography lab. VAS class sessions usually run 6 to 9 weeks, three times a year and are taught by artists active at the Hermitage and in the Tidewater area. RIVERVIEW GALLERY - 1 High Street, High Street Landing, Portsmouth, VA 23704
Features a collection of original fine crafts and art representing more than 300 North American artists, exhibited in a waterfront gallery. The collection includes pottery, raku, blown glass, stained glass, metal sculpture, photography, jewelry, paintings, fountains, and Judaica. Hours: 11:00-8:00 Wednesday-Saturday, 11:00-5:00 Sunday-Tuesday.
ARTS BUILD COMMUNITIES AT PARK PLACE CHILD LIFE CENTER IN NORFOLK - Park Place Child Life Center (PPCLC) seeks to transform the lives of children ages 6 to 14 in Park Place, an economically disadvantaged neighborhood in Norfolk, through arts-based programming designed to advance literacy and encourage a lifetime of learning. Age-appropriate instruction facilitates artistic self-expression through music, visual arts, drama and dance, all taking place within the community of Park Place. PENINSULA FINE ARTS CENTER - Every Thursday - 5:30-8:00pm. Newport News, VA - 101 Museum Dr., "Arts Cafe". The public is invited to Peninsula Fine Arts Center for an evening of chardonnay, coffee and conversation with Arts Cafe. The first three Thursdays of the month, Arts Cafe will offer an alternative venue to mix and mingle in artistic ambiance featuring a changing array of live music, performance art, video and other activities. Visitors can meet friends, make new acquaintances, or view and reflect on art to the tunes of an eclectic array of the region's talented musicians. Admission is free to Peninsula Fine Arts Center members and $3.00 for non-members. Food and beverages are provided, donations are encouraged and proceeds support PFAC. www.virginia.org will give you information on the site.
TIDEWATER ART ALLIANCE
The mission of the alliance is to support, promote and develop the visual arts in the Tidewater Area. This includes encouraging communications about the visual arts among the artists, the art organizations, governments, and the public. The alliance also undertakes programs and exhibitions, which advance the visual arts and their role in daily life.
Members of the alliance are serious in their interests in developing, improving, supporting, assisting and contributing to the artistic growth of fellow artists, the regional cultural life and themselves.

TIDEWATER ARTS OUTREACH
Throughout the Hampton Roads area, tens of thousands of people live in isolation,
confined in institutions or otherwise unable to go out into their communities. Tidewater Arts Outreach seeks to bring creative, talented performers to institutions so that isolated individuals can take part in artistic experiences designed to uplift, entertain and inspire.
